Why the first hours after a warning matter
A chargeback rarely comes out of nowhere. Often there is a signal first: an early fraud warning from the card network, an inquiry from the issuer, or a pre dispute alert through a network program. If you act on that signal, the case may never count as a chargeback at all.
When the signal sits unread in a processor dashboard, the window closes. The cardholder's bank files the dispute, you pay a fee that is typically 15 to 100 USD per dispute depending on your processor, and the case adds to your monthly chargeback ratio.
Chargeback prevention alerts close that gap. They bring every signal to the people who can act on it, with the context they need to decide quickly.
Which chargeback prevention alerts NoChargeback sends
| Alert | Where it comes from | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Early fraud warning | Card network fraud report passed on by your processor | Refund before a dispute, block the customer, review similar orders |
| Inquiry | Issuer asks for information before a formal dispute | Send order details and proof, contact the customer |
| New dispute | Formal chargeback opened on your processor | Build the evidence pack, accept or fight |
| Deadline reminder | Due date of an open dispute | Submit before the case is lost by default |
| Ratio warning | Your dispute ratio reaches 70 or 90 percent of a network threshold | Tighten rules, refund risky orders, review products |
| Network alert | Mastercard Ethoca or Visa Verifi CDRN on Scale and Enterprise | Refund or resolve before the chargeback is filed |
Each alert shows the amount, card network, reason or fraud type, customer and order, and a short recommendation.
A clear recommendation on every alert
An alert is only useful if you know what to do next. For each early fraud warning, NoChargeback compares the cost of refunding now with the likely cost of a chargeback, which includes the order amount, the dispute fee and the effect on your ratio. When a refund is the cheaper path, the alert says so.
The decision stays with you. NoChargeback never issues refunds on its own. You refund in your processor dashboard with one click from the alert, or you set your own rule.
On Growth and higher, you can set auto refund or auto decline rules for your own account, for example by amount, network or reason. These rules are opt in and off by default.

Network alerts from Ethoca and Verifi
Processor signals cover a lot, but the card networks also run their own pre dispute programs. On Scale and Enterprise, NoChargeback adds Ethoca alerts for Mastercard and Verifi CDRN for Visa, plus Visa rapid dispute resolution rules and Order Insight data.
These alerts reach the merchant after the cardholder contacts the bank but before the chargeback is filed. Refunding at that point usually stops the dispute. All network alerts sit in the same feed as your processor alerts, so you work from one list.
Flat pricing with no per alert fee
Many alert services charge per alert, so a bad week means a big bill. NoChargeback includes a set number of alerts in each plan.
| Plan | Monthly | Billed yearly, per month | Alerts per month | Network alerts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 49 USD | 24 USD | 100 | Processor alerts |
| Growth | 299 USD | 149 USD | 1,000 | Processor alerts |
| Scale | 799 USD | 399 USD | 5,000 | Ethoca, Verifi CDRN, Visa RDR |
| Enterprise | 1,999 USD | 999 USD | 20,000 | Ethoca, Verifi CDRN, Visa RDR |
Alerts are counted as they arrive in each billing period. You get an upgrade prompt at 80 percent of the limit. Paying yearly saves 50 percent. Full details are on the pricing page.
When a dispute still arrives
Some disputes will be filed no matter how fast you act. When that happens, the same case moves from the alert feed into a dispute with an evidence pack already built from the order, customer, IP and location, 3DS and AVS/CVC results, delivery or usage proof and your terms. What are chargeback alerts
Chargeback alerts are notices that a payment is at risk of becoming a chargeback, or that one has just been filed. They include early fraud warnings, issuer inquiries, network pre dispute alerts and new disputes, and they give you time to refund or prepare evidence.
What is the difference between a chargeback alert and a dispute
An alert comes before or at the start of a dispute, while a dispute is the formal chargeback itself. Acting on an alert, often with a refund, can stop the case from becoming a chargeback that counts toward your ratio.
Does NoChargeback refund customers automatically
No, not unless you create that rule yourself. NoChargeback shows a refund recommendation when a refund is cheaper than the likely chargeback, and auto refund rules on Growth and higher are opt in and off by default.
Do you charge per alert
No, each plan includes a monthly number of alerts at a flat price: 100 on Starter, 1,000 on Growth, 5,000 on Scale and 20,000 on Enterprise.
Which plan includes Ethoca and Verifi alerts
Scale and Enterprise include network alerts from Mastercard Ethoca and Visa Verifi CDRN, Visa RDR rules and Order Insight data. Starter and Growth cover processor alerts such as early fraud warnings, inquiries and disputes.
