That model costs little when you win little. It gets expensive in exactly the months you would most like to keep the money: high win rates, bigger orders, more alerts. Below is what the rates add up to at three store sizes, and where a flat plan such as NoChargeback pricing comes out lower.
What Disputifier charges per chargeback and per alert
Disputifier sells a Shopify app that answers chargebacks automatically, plus alerts, fraud screening and item not received prevention. Its pricing page says it bills only on results, with no subscription, no minimum and no lock in.
| Item | Published price | Where it is stated |
|---|---|---|
| Chargeback responses, Basic Plan | 20 percent of recovered revenue, capped at 250 USD per recovery | Disputifier pricing page |
| Chargeback responses, Annual Plan | 12 percent of won chargebacks, prepaid as a yearly credit | Disputifier help center |
| Chargeback alerts | 17 to 27.50 USD per alert | Shopify App Store listing |
| Fraud and item not received prevention | Listed, no price shown | Disputifier pricing page |
| Setup and monthly fee | None | Disputifier pricing page |
| Trial | 7 days | Shopify App Store listing |
A competitor comparison also mentions about 0.05 USD per order for fraud and item not received coverage. Disputifier does not show that figure on its own page, so ask for it in writing before you budget for it.
How the Disputifier Annual Plan works
The Annual Plan swaps the 20 percent fee for 12 percent, about 40 percent less, in exchange for paying upfront. Disputifier estimates your yearly chargeback volume and sells you a credit worth 12 percent of it. Its own example is a 240 USD credit for 2,000 USD of estimated annual chargebacks. The credit does not expire, the plan renews when the credit runs out, and the help article gives you 90 days to get a refund and move back to the Basic Plan.
The catch is that the price still follows your wins. A store that recovers 40,000 USD a year pays 4,800 USD on the Annual Plan, and the next renewal is sized on the same volume.
What Disputifier costs at three store sizes
This is list price math, not a result. Each row assumes a win rate the store already reaches, an average recovered amount per won dispute below the 1,250 USD point where the 250 USD cap starts to matter, and alerts at the low end of 17 USD.
| Store | Won disputes a month | Recovered a month | Basic Plan fee (20 percent) | Annual Plan fee (12 percent) | Alerts at 17 USD |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small Shopify store | 6 at 90 USD | 540 USD | 108 USD | 65 USD | 10 alerts, 170 USD |
| Mid sized store | 30 at 120 USD | 3,600 USD | 720 USD | 432 USD | 40 alerts, 680 USD |
| Large store | 150 at 200 USD | 30,000 USD | 6,000 USD | 3,600 USD | 300 alerts, 5,100 USD |
At the high alert rate of 27.50 USD, the alert column rises to 275, 1,100 and 8,250 USD. The large store on the Basic Plan with alerts pays 11,100 to 14,250 USD a month.
What Disputifier does well
Pay on results has a real upside. If you lose most disputes, you pay almost nothing, and there is no bill in a month with no chargebacks. The app installs from the Shopify App Store, the 7 day trial lets you see it work on live disputes, and the 250 USD cap protects you on very large orders. For a new store with two or three disputes a month, that is hard to beat.
The model stops making sense once your win rate is good. Every dispute you win with a strong evidence pack is a dispute where you hand over a fifth of the money.
How to compare Disputifier pricing with a flat plan
- 1 Export the last three months of Disputifier invoices and add up the recovery fees and alert fees separately.
- 2 Count won disputes, total recovered and alerts per month. Your Shopify admin and the app dashboard both show the dispute history.
- 3 Check whether any single recovery passed 1,250 USD, the point where the 250 USD cap kicks in, so you price those cases correctly.
- 4 Match your monthly volume to a plan on the pricing page. Disputes and alerts both have to fit inside the plan limits.
- 5 Check what the app charges per order for prevention, and whether you would keep that part running.
If the fees end up in your books as app charges, you can convert the CSV export into a QuickBooks file so the monthly cost is easy to track next to recovered revenue.
Keep the money you win back
Connect your Shopify store or another processor, get drafted evidence packs for every dispute and pay one flat price, with no share of recovered chargebacks.
How much does Disputifier cost?
Disputifier charges 20 percent of each won chargeback, capped at 250 USD per recovery, with no setup or monthly fee. An Annual Plan lowers that to 12 percent paid upfront as a credit. Chargeback alerts cost 17 to 27.50 USD each, according to its Shopify App Store listing.
Is Disputifier free?
The app is free to install and has a 7 day trial, but it is not free to use. You pay 20 percent of every chargeback it wins, or 12 percent on the prepaid Annual Plan, plus a fee for each alert. You pay nothing for disputes it loses.
What is the Disputifier Annual Plan?
It is a prepaid option at 12 percent of won chargebacks instead of 20 percent. Disputifier estimates your yearly chargeback volume and charges 12 percent of it upfront as a credit that never expires. You have 90 days to get a refund and move back to the Basic Plan.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Disputifier?
For stores that win more than a few disputes a month, yes. NoChargeback charges a flat price with no share of recovered funds. Growth covers 100 disputes and 1,000 alerts for 149 USD a month billed yearly, which costs less than 20 percent of about 750 USD in monthly wins.
