Which is cheaper, Chargeblast or Chargeback.io?
On published numbers, Chargeback.io, by about 4 USD on each Visa alert. Chargeblast rates are reported to be negotiable, and one public review mentions 15 USD for Visa alerts at cancellation, so the real gap may be zero. Ask for the rate in writing and for the duplicate policy, because duplicates can move the bill more than the headline price.
What each costs at three alert volumes
This is list price math with hypothetical numbers. Assume 60 percent of alerts are Visa and 40 percent Ethoca, and an 80 USD average order that is refunded on every alert.
| Monthly alerts | Chargeblast fees | Chargeback.io fees | Refunded orders |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | About 460 USD | About 412 USD | 1,600 USD |
| 60 | About 1,380 USD | About 1,236 USD | 4,800 USD |
| 150 | About 3,450 USD | About 3,090 USD | 12,000 USD |
The refunded orders are the same under both, and they dwarf the fee gap. An alert pays when the order would have become a lost dispute plus a fee, and not when the customer would have dropped the claim. Read the break even in Chargeback.io pricing and Chargeblast pricing.
What neither tool covers
Alerts exist only for disputes that issuers report through the networks. Many "item not received", "canceled subscription" and "I do not recognize this" disputes arrive with no alert and a due date in your Stripe Dashboard. A refund tool does nothing for them.
Neither vendor watches your dispute activity against Visa VAMP and Mastercard ECM limits, which is covered on Stripe dispute rate monitoring. If you also sell on invoice terms, a tool that chases unpaid invoices handles the receivables side while disputes stay with your card processor.
A flat Stripe plan for the disputes alerts miss
NoChargeback is a flat plan for Stripe merchants. Growth is 149 USD a month billed yearly (299 USD billed monthly) for 5 Stripe accounts and 1,000 alerts, with evidence submitted 48 hours before the due date. Starter is 49 USD a month. It keeps no share of wins and triages Stripe early fraud warnings.
It does not sell Ethoca, Verifi CDRN or Visa RDR alerts and works with Stripe only. Many stores run alerts for the networks and a flat plan for the rest. Compare the field on best Stripe chargeback prevention apps and the Chargeback.io alternative page.
Is Chargeblast better than Chargeback.io?
Neither wins for every store. Chargeback.io publishes prices and uses a prepaid balance. Chargeblast supports more processors by its help center and negotiates rates. Pick by how many alerts you expect, which processors you use and whether you want a published rate.
How much does Chargeblast cost?
Chargeblast does not show a public rate card. Listings and reviews report about 19 USD for each Visa RDR or CDRN alert and about 29 USD for each Ethoca alert, and some rates are negotiated. Ask the vendor for a written quote.
How much does Chargeback.io cost?
Chargeback.io lists 15 USD per Visa RDR alert, 15 USD per Verifi CDRN alert and 29 USD per Mastercard Ethoca alert. There is no monthly plan, and fees are deducted from a prepaid balance as alerts arrive.
Do I need alerts if I already dispute chargebacks?
Alerts and dispute responses cover different cases. Alerts stop disputes the networks announce early, at the cost of a refund. Responses fight disputes that become chargebacks. High ticket stores often use both.
What is a cheaper alternative to Chargeblast and Chargeback.io?
For Stripe merchants with steady disputes, a flat dispute plan costs less than paying per alert for every case. NoChargeback starts at 49 USD a month and covers evidence for every reason code, though not network alerts.
